Welcome to this week's newsletter, issue 13th! It's almost the weekend and we're excited to share fun events we found in Wichita, KS and the surrounding area. Events This Weekend

Pumpkins at the Park

Enjoy one of the Largest Halloween Events in the Wichita area from October 18th-20th at 6pm-9:30pm! Come out to Tanganyika Wildlife Park for activities for all ages! Pumpkins at the Park will feature special Halloween characters, a 3D maze, inflatables, hayrides, food, and so much more!

Wave 1 Year Anniversary Party

Celebrate Wave’s 1 year anniversary on October 18th from 11am through October 19th at 2am! Enjoy live music and food & drink specials all day long! There will also be no cover! Come out and have some fun at Wave!

Howl-loween

Come out to the Great Plains Nature Center on October 19th from 4pm-7pm for their creepy crawly Howl-loween event! Everyone is encouraged to wear their costume and donate $1 per person. This event will feature a ½ mile walk filled with Kansas critters, candy, and fun festivities!

Let’s Move, Kansas!

Are you ready to run? Come out to the Sedgwick County Park on October 19th at 8:30am for multiples races including the 5K and the 1.5 Mile Walk! There will be cash prizes and participation medals for race finishers. There are races for all ages and there is still time to reserve your spot today!

Fall Festival

Join the Healthcare Resort on October 19th at 2pm for their first annual Fall Festival! Enjoy face painting, pumpkin decorating, shopping, a silent auction, live music, food, and more! Come out and bring the whole family! All proceeds from the event will go towards benefiting the America Heart Association.

Kids’ Book Hangout Event

Does your child like to read? Then this is the event for you! Visit Barnes & Noble in Bradley Fair on October 19th at 2pm for their Kids’ Book Hangout event! Enjoy games, activities, giveaways while connecting with fellow readers!

17th Annual Tallgrass Film Festival

Now through October 20th, enjoy the 17th Annual Tallgrass Film Festival around downtown Wichita! The festival includes a variety of films from around the world and has been named one of MovieMaker Magazine’s Top 50 Festivals in 2015 and 2016! Tickets are still available to purchase online if you would like to check it out.

Yard Games Olympics

Do you like to play yard games? Then the Yard Games Olympics is the event for you! Come out to Chicken N Pickle on October 20th from 1pm-4pm for Bocce Ball, Shuffleboard, and Cornhole! This is a family friendly event with a fee of $10 per person. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place!

Shocktoberfest

Enjoy Shocktoberfest from October 19th -23rd at the Rhatigan Student Center! This program features service opportunities, social events, and a whole lot of competitions! This has been Wichita State’s annual celebration of Shocker Pride since 1991 and you’re invited to be a part of the Shocker experience!

26th Annual Unique Antique Market

Join the K-State Research & Extension for their 26th Annual Unique Antique Market! The Fall Show will be held on October 20th from 10am-4pm. Admission is free and so is parking! You will be able to shop unique and vintage treasures such as home décor, jewelry, patio items, clothing, and more!
