Consumer Reports asks the questions: "[Is the] All-new 2013 Toyota RAV4, the most significant car of the LA Auto Show?"
Redesigned for 2013 the RAV4 has been invigorated for 2013. With a sportier front end, an upswept window line and back swooping headlights, the 2013 RAV4 will be a real head turner. While we don't buy just for looks (or do we?) the RAV4 has many upgrades from previous models that make it a great choice for your next automobile!
A new 6 speed transmission replaces the older 4 speed for improved fuel efficiency and smoother automatic shifting. The FWD 2013 Toyota RAV4 gets 24/31 mpg, city/highway with the available AWD 22/29.
Along with the 6 speed transmission both the steering and the suspension have been tuned for better handling, making the 2013 Toyota RAV4 even more fun to drive!
Safety Is # 1
Continuing with Toyotas commitment to safety the 2013 Toyota RAV4 has 8 airbags, a standard back up camera, blind spot monitoring and cross traffic alert with Entune (optional).
Under The Hood
The available engine for this year's RAV4 is a 176 horsepower four-cylinder that boasts rapid pickup much like a V6 without the added fuel costs. There is even a Sport mode that quickens steering, transmission and throttle response. Coupled with the 6 speed transmission, tuned steering and suspension the 2013 Toyota RAV4 is as exciting to drive as it is to look at.
