The 2015 Toyota Yaris is a sleek vehicle with a Euro-inspired exterior. It's available in three trim levels and two body styles. The L and LE are available as either 3-door or 5-door models, while the SE comes only in 5-door. The L has lots of impressive design features, while the LE adds black front grille with chrome accent, cruise control, and a remote keyless entry system. The SE adds 16" machine-finished alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, and much more.
The Yaris may be small, but it comes with hugely impressive technological features. These include a Yaris Entune Audio system (with six speakers), hands-free phone capability, Bluetooth wireless technology, and more. The Yaris is also a remarkably safe vehicle. In addition to features like nine airbags, driver and front passenger whiplash-injury-lessening seats, three-point seatbelts, and a safe body structure that includes high-tensile-strength steel body panels, head-impact protection structure, energy-absorbing collapsible steering column, and front and rear energy-absorbing crumple zones with side-impact door beams. Each Yaris trim level also comes with the Star Safety System, which includes Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Anti-lock Brake System, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist, and Smart Stop Technology.
At the heart of the Yaris is a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder DOHC 16-valve engine with VVT-i, which generates 106 horsepower and 103 pound-feet of torque. This engine can be paired with either 5-speed manual transmission or 4-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with intelligence. When the engine is coupled with manual transmission, it can get up to 37 miles per gallon on the highway (automatic transmission brings it down slightly to 36). Both transmissions deliver an impressive 30 city MPG, as well.
